together leading air navigation service providers, ATM technology companies, research institutions, and specialist technology partners from across Europe. NOMAD will formally begin this autumn, with its kick-off meeting taking place on 10 September in Brussels at EUROCONTROL.<\/p><p>ProofIT will contribute its test automation and performance testing expertise in the testing and validation of complex air traffic management systems, supporting the development of the next generation of digital ATM infrastructure in Europe.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-15fbbd2 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"15fbbd2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Building the Next Generation of European Air Traffic Management<\/h3><p>NOMAD has been established to support the transformation of <a href=\"https:\/\/proofit.tech\/blog\/hungarocontrol-proofit-atm-system-innovation\/\">European air traffic management<\/a> into a more connected, automated, flexible, and resilient ecosystem.<\/p><p>The project contributes to the vision of the <strong>Digital European Sky<\/strong> and the latest <strong>European ATM Master Plan<\/strong>, which aim to modernise Europe\u2019s air traffic infrastructure while maintaining high safety standards, increasing operational efficiency, and reducing aviation\u2019s environmental impact.<\/p><p>At the heart of NOMAD is the development and validation of a new generation of ATM platforms based on cloud technologies, automation, cybersecurity, and real-time information exchange.<\/p><p>The objective is to enable air navigation service providers to manage capacity more dynamically in response to changing traffic demand, while reducing delays, emissions, and operational complexity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1ea0fbd1 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1ea0fbd1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Three Key Areas of Innovation<\/h3><p>NOMAD will focus on three major areas of technological development.<\/p><ol><li>The first is the creation of highly automated, increasingly \u201csilent\u201d air traffic control operations, in which a greater proportion of communication between air traffic controllers and pilots can be handled digitally rather than through traditional voice communication.<\/li><li>The second area focuses on <strong>dynamic airspace and capacity management<\/strong>, enabling ATM systems to respond in real time to changing traffic volumes, weather conditions, and operational constraints.<\/li><li>The third is the development of a <strong>secure, cloud-based and multi-vendor ATM platform<\/strong>, designed to allow systems and services from different technology providers to operate together efficiently and securely.<\/li><\/ol><p>The project will also investigate advanced applications of <strong>artificial intelligence and human-machine collaboration<\/strong>. These technologies have the potential to <a href=\"https:\/\/proofit.tech\/blog\/is-it-possible-to-test-automatically-an-integrated-atm-system\/\">support air traffic controllers<\/a>, improve predictability, increase available airspace capacity, and enable higher levels of automation while maintaining the stringent safety requirements of European aviation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-361e8c98 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"361e8c98\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>ProofIT Responsible for ATM Testing Activities<\/h3><p>ProofIT will contribute its <a href=\"https:\/\/proofit.tech\/services\/atm-testing\/\">ATM test-automation expertise<\/a> to the project\u2019s integration, regression, performance testing and validation activities.<\/p><p>This role builds on ProofIT\u2019s experience in the automated testing of integrated, business- and mission-critical systems, as well as its specialist expertise in air traffic management environments.<\/p><p>ProofIT will also have the opportunity to apply its internally developed ATM system testing solution, created specifically for <strong>automated regression and end-to-end testing of integrated ATM environments<\/strong>.<\/p><p><em>\u201cIt is a great honour for us to be part of the NOMAD project&#8221; <\/em>&#8211; says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/attila-m%C3%A9sz%C3%A1ros-68b609a2\"><strong>Attila M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros<\/strong><\/a>, R&amp;D Director of ProofIT. &#8211; <em>&#8222;<\/em><em>The programme gives us the opportunity to contribute our specialist ATM testing expertise and to apply our internally developed ATM system testing tool, which has been designed specifically for automated regression and end-to-end testing of integrated ATM environments.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p>The participation of ProofIT reflects the increasingly important role of systematic, automated verification in the development of next-generation ATM platforms.
